Budget Presentation / Meet the Candidate(s) Night:
Monday, April 8, 2024 at 6 pm at 338 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743. The proposed budget will be available to the public beginning March 26, 2024, on our website, http://myhpl.org, or at the Customer Service desks in both our Main Street and Station Branch buildings.

Trustee Petitions:
Nominating petitions for Library Trustee are available from the Library Director’s office in our Main Street building beginning Monday, February 19, 2024. The last day for filing a completed petition is Monday, March 18, 2024, at 5 pm in the Library Director’s Office at 338 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743.
Trustee Eligibility: To become a candidate for a Library Trustee position, you must be a resident of the Huntington Union Free School District #3, and submit a petition, signed by at least 25 qualified residents of the school district, to the Library’s administration office at 338 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743, by Monday, March 18, 2024, at 5:00 pm
A trustee must be a registered voter in the Huntington Library District and shall take and subscribe to an oath of office, which shall be filed as provided by law. Voter Registration Day:
Residents of the Huntington School District #3 who are not registered to vote and wish to register for the library election may do so by presenting themselves personally at the library, 338 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743 on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, between the hours of 10 am – 4 pm. We will provide you with a New York State registration form to complete and we will mail it to the Suffolk County Board of Elections for you.
Absentee & Early Mail Ballot Applications: Absentee & Early Mail ballot applications are available at the Main Street and Station Branch Reference Desks and online beginning Monday, March 18, 2024. A completed absentee or early mail ballot application must be received at least seven (7) days before the vote, at the Main Branch (338 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743) if you would like a ballot mailed to you.
A completed absentee or early mail ballot application must be received at least one (1) day before the vote, if you are dropping off your application at the Main Branch (338 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743) between 9am and 4pm in the library’s Administration Office and are receiving your ballot in person.
Upon approval of the application, an absentee or early mail ballot packet will be issued. All absentee and early mail ballots must be received in official envelopes at the Library by 5pm on the day of the vote in order to be counted. Please ensure to follow all directions on the official envelope for your ballot to be valid.
